Depends on the location! Since the valley is waterlogged now, a lot of the villages make use of hydroelectricity. I haven’t thought too far outside of the valley yet, but it would stand to reason that the nearest major city, which is built on an island in the middle of a massive river delta, would also have harnessed water for some of its power. Cities that don’t live near water, or particularly windy areas that might benefit from windmills, probably use coal in this era.
Fortunately, there’s another clean energy source that is used to power most (but not all) vehicles and technology. That’s probably something I’ll discuss in a later post!
